Williston town is located about 120km east of Calvinia, and was first called Amandelboom (Almond Tree), when in 1845 Johann Heinrich Lutz established a mission station at this spot. In 1883 the name changed to Williston, in honour of Colonel Hampden Willis.

Williston Golf Club is a 9-hole course located in De wet Street, Williston. Directions to Williston Golf Club, is travel from Johannesburg on the N12 towards Beaufort-West. Take the Victoria West turn-off and travel past Carnarvon towards Williston. Travel through the town of Williston and at the last street in town, Boom Street, turn right towards Calvinia and go past the rugby field towards the golf course.

Victoria West is a small Karoo town, located about 150km to the north of Beaufort West on the N12 highway. The town is wedged in between two mountains and a river and is an excellent stop-over for visitors to the Great Karoo.

The Victoria West Golf Club is an 18-hole course in the town of Victoria West, named after Queen Victoria of England, and established in 1843. Directions to Victoria West Golf Club from Johannesburg, is travel on the N12 to Kimberley, pass Kimberley,Hopetown,Strydenburg, Britstown and continue until you reach Victoria West. At the first 4-way stop turn left and follow the signs to the golf club.

The Upington Golf Club is a beautiful, contrasting 18-hole grass course with a true “Kalahari” look and feel to it. This golf course is a surprising gem in a dry, desert-like area.

The Upington Golf Course is situated in the heart of the Kalahari, near the Desert Palace Hotel & Casino Resort, and about 7km from the CBD of Upington on the N14. Directions to the Upington Golf Club, is travel on the N14 from Johannesburg passing Vryburg, Kuruman, and Olifantshoek until you reach Upington. Turn right at the Casino turn-off to the golf club.

Sutherland is renowned for its cold, the Observatory and SALT, and the floral paradise the town is transformed into during springtime. The succulent route is a botanical experience to behold from mid July to end October.

The Sutherland Golf Club is a 9-hole course with a practice range and sand and oil greens. Directions to the Sutherland Golf Club, is travel from Johannesburg on the N1 past Beaufort West towards Laingsburg until you reach Matjiesfontein. Take the R356 to Sutherland, which is 110km from Matjiesfontein. In the town turn left at the T-junction and the golf course is on the right hand side about 1,5km as you exit the town.

Ulco Golf Club is a 9-hole course with a driving range, in the town of Ulco, in the Kalahari & Diamond Fields District.

Directions to the Ulco Golf Club, from Bloemfontein travel to Kimberley, and take the Barkley West turn-off. Travel through Barkly West and continue for about 40km to Ulco. Turn left and then at 4-way stop, turn left again, to the golf club.
