Crown Mines Golf Club is one of the older clubs in Johannesburg, and was founded before the first world war. This parkland course offers interesting water hazards and many trees, and the club provides a friendly clubhouse with excellent service and a well stocked pro-shop. Crown Mines Golf Club is built in mining country, just a few kilometres southeast of central Johannesburg, and about 2 kilometres away from Gold Reef City which boasts a 19th-century-style hotel and pub, and a deep mine shaft open to the public every day.
