Ficksburg is located in the Eastern Free State between the Maluti Mountains, and it is the closest town to the Lesotho border. Activities in the area include the Cherry Festival, held each year around Mid-November, visiting the biggest collection of Steam Trains held each year around April, and viewing the buildings and houses built from Sandstone.

The Ficksburg Golf Club is an 18-hole course located in Hill Street, and open every day of the week. Directions to Ficksburg Golf Club, is travel north from Johannesburg on the N1 to Ventersburg passing Kroonstad. At Ventersburg turn left onto the R70, go through Senekal, take the Bethlehem road and after about 5km turn right to Rosendal (still on the R70), bypass Rosendal and continue to the T-junction (R26), turn right and then left into Ficksburg (Lesotho Road). Take the second right, McCabe street, the golf club is on the left. The entrance is in Hill Street(the first left).

The Soweto Country Club is located in Pimville, Soweto, between Eldorado Park and Kliptown, and was established in 1974. The club is well established and has a great restaurant & pub just across the road from it.

Directions to the Soweto Country Club, is from the N1, take the Golden Highway (R553) off-ramp and travel in an easterly direction. Turn right into Union Road and at the traffic circle turn right into Kliptown Road. At the next traffic circle turn right into Mokoka Road and the entrance to the golf club is on the left.

Ventersdorp, today, is at the centre of a large agricultural area.The enormous silos stand as proof of farming successes. All sport clubs and facilities are funded by private members. The Ventersdorp Golf Club is a 9-hole course located in Voortrekker Street.

Ventersdorp is located in the fertile Vaal River Valley, with four roads leading to the town. It is 110km from the Witwatersrand or Pretoria on the Tarlton-Ventersdorp road, 50km from Potchefstroom, 70km from Klerksdorp and 90km from Lichtenburg.

 Directions to the Ventersdorp Golf Club is travel on the N14 towards Krugersdorp. From Krugersdorp travel to Ventersdorp (about 1 hour), once in town follow the sign to the  golf club.

The town of Stella was named after the daughter of the owner of the farm Biesjesbult, which was often used for church gatherings in the early twenties, and the town is now widely known as host of the annual Cattle Festival, held in October.

The Stella Golf Club is located off Stella street, and is a 9-hole course, with a driving range. Birdwatching is a popular passtime in Stella, and accommodation is available at Leeuwbosch Lodge, which comprises 2 luxurious camps, also providing conference facilities that can accommodate up to 50 people.
