Mtunzini Country Club was designed by members, and officially opened on March 12, 1961. It is one of Mtunzini’s most attractive assets and provides a fabulous 9-hole golf course, a club house, and breathtaking views over the Umlalazi Estuary and Indian Ocean.

The Mtunzini 9-hole golf course offers challenging golf where accuracy off the tee is paramount. The fairways are lined with beautiful indigenous trees and bush, and the greens are amongst the best in Zululand, with the Club having invested in top of the range equipment to keep them in great shape.

The Eshowe Hills golf course was designed by the legendary Bob Grimsdell, and the  1st nine upgraded by Jeff Hawkes in 2007. A spectacular feature at the course is a boardwalk that has been established on the 8th hole, and runs through the forest from tee to green at a height of 5 meters. It can take golf carts, and is unique to this course in South Africa.

There are various game parks in the area, like Hluhluwe, Umfolozi, Mkuzi and Phinde, and also historical sites like Blood River, Rorke’s Drift and Ulundi. Lake Phobane/Goedetrouw Dam is famous for its bass fishing, and is about 10km from Eshowe.
